A fictional brand, built by Maer Media as a brand-building template for India. Market observations are qualitative; every number on this page is a plan target, not a result.

01 · Market analysis

Premium water in Indiais decided at the table.

A premium sparkling and still natural mineral water bottled near a Himalayan spring, sold in heavy glass to fine dining, luxury hotels and premium homes.

Signal 01

Premium water is an on-trade category first. Fine dining and five-star hotels set the reference price; homes follow what they see there.

Signal 02

Imported labels still own the white-tablecloth table. Indian premium brands mostly compete in PET, on shelves.

Signal 03

Sparkling is the open gap. Most Indian mineral water is still, and the sparkling on menus is usually imported.

Signal 04

Quick commerce has made premium water a basket add-on in metros: a 750 ml glass bottle now arrives in minutes.

03 · Brand system

For tables that care where everything comes from, Himalayan Co. is the sparkling water with a named spring, an altitude and a bottling date.

The name

Plain and geographic, like an old trading company; “Co.” signals provenance and craft. Before any real launch the name needs trademark clearance, because “Himalayan” is already an established packaged-water brand in India.

Type

Wide grotesk capitals for the wordmark; a light serif for the source story.

Signature device

A single altitude line printed on the glass, showing how high the spring sits.

09 · Risks and rules in India

  1. 01
    Licensing

Natural mineral water must meet FSSAI standards and carry BIS certification (IS 13428) before sale.

  2. 02
    Name clearance

“Himalayan” is an existing water brand in India: clear the trademark first, or choose another name.

  3. 03
    Glass logistics

Breakage and weight. Plan cases, insurance and a bottle-return loop with partners.

  4. 04
    Claims

No health claims beyond what the label’s mineral analysis supports.
